Sandra M. Franks, 83, of Milan, died Sunday, March 26, 2017 surrounded by family at home.  Cremation rites were accorded.  A memorial service will be Noon Wednesday at Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home and Crematory, Milan.  Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in care of the Coyne Center Volunteer Fire Department.

Sandra was born in Rock Island on January 27, 1934, a daughter of Charles and Dorothy Chambers Hofmann.  She married Billy G. Franks in Hernando, Miss. on June 12, 1952.

Sandra owned Sandra's Beauty Shop for 40 years.  After retiring from her shop, she spent time as a beautician at Aspen Rehab and Health Care, Silvis, and the former Moline Nursing and Rehab, which is now  Heartland Health Care Center.

Sandra loved her family, shopping, reading westerns and romance novels and going to her grandkids activities.  She also loved her Pepsi.

Those left to cherish her memory are her husband, Billy Franks, Milan; children, Billy D. (Karen) Franks and Susan (Rich) Bosold, both of Milan; eight grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; brothers, Art (Mary Ann) Hofmann, Rock Island and Charles (Delores "Dee") Hofmann, Ina, Ill.; and several special nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, son, Ronald E. Franks and sisters, Mary Dawson and Edna Princell.
