Sandra E. "Sandy" Martin, 54, of Milan, passed away peacefully at her home on Monday, August 29, 2016.  A memorial service will be held at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday at the Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home and Crematory, Milan.  Visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. to service time on Thursday at the funeral home.  Per her wishes, cremation rites will be accorded following services.  Memorials may be made in care of the family for her grandson's education.

Sandy was born on March 15, 1962 in Rock Island, a daughter of James and Alice Ann (Paul) Martin.  Sandy worked as a CNA at St. Anthony's Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Rock Island.

Sandy was a member of the Moose Lodge in Rock Island.  She greatly enjoyed spending time with her family and she always made time for her siblings, nieces, nephews and friends.  Sandy was very musical and loved animals.  Sandy was truly full of kindness and compassion and she will be missed by all those dear to her.

Survivors include her son, Joshua (Amanda) Martin, Milan; grandson, Tyler Martin; siblings, William, Elaine, Patricia, Rebecca, Jim, Bill, Tom, Albert and a special friend, Bobby Proehl

She was preceded in death by her parents, James and Ann and siblings, Robert, Catherine, Nancy, Linda and Betty
