Scott A. DePaepe, 64, Moline, IL passed away on Tuesday, September 3, 2024 at his home. There will be a private celebration of life at a later date. Inurnment at Rock Island Memorial Park. Memorials may be made to the family.

Scott was born on January 30, 1960 to Donald and Rose Marie (Huntington) DePaepe in Rock Island, IL. He graduated from Moline High School and later earned his Associate's Degree from Blackhawk College.

On May 28, 1983, Scott was united in marriage to Penny Bawmann in Moline where they made their home and raised their two daughters.

Scott was a jack of all trades and did many things throughout his career. He was a handyman and worked in residential construction and also with Brammer Cabinets. In his later years he began working in the trucking industry. Scott got his CDL and was a truck driver for a while before starting at Hodge Trucking as a forklift operator. He was still employed at Hodge at the time of his passing.

Scott was an avid collector. He had collections of stamps, records, coins, matchbook cars, baseball cards, and many other vintage items. He also enjoyed watching sports and rooting for the Chicago Bears. However, he mostly preferred spending his time outdoors, whether that was grilling, camping, fishing, hanging at the Conservation Club, or riding his motorcycle. Scott loved to travel around the US, especially by car, so he could make many stops along the way. He frequently took his family on road trips and they camped all over the country.

Scott is survived by his daughters, Lauren Vervaecke and Sarah (Erik Harper) DePaepe; siblings, Sue Vering, Steve (Tenya Losching) DePaepe, and Donnie DePaepe; one grandchild, Rosie Harper with one more on the way; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents.
