Scott W. Young, 62, of Rock Island, passed away on Tuesday, July 28, 2026, at UnityPoint Health Trinity, Rock Island. 

Graveside services are pending at Greenview Memorial Gardens, East Moline. Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home and Crematory, Rock Island is assisting the family. Memorials may be made in care of the family. 

Scott was born on November 20, 1963, in Rock Island, Illinois, a son of James W. "Junior" and Sandra J. (Johnson) Young. He worked as a custodian for many years, retiring from the Davenport School District. 

Scott's hobbies included attending concerts, watching sprint car races, and collecting knick knacks. Above all else, he enjoyed spending time with friends and family. 

Those left to cherish Scott's memory include his brother, James (Cindy) Young; nieces, Shannon Myers and Jessica Young; several great nieces and nephews; and host of extended family and friends. 

Scott was preceded in death by his parents.
