Obituary

Sean Allen Sr. gained his wings in the earliest hours of December 12th of 2022. Sean was born August 25th to Charlene Lampkin and Joe Allen Sr. in Chicago IL, in 1973. He graduated from Rock Island High School in 1991, where he played football and was an exceptional duo alongside his older brother Joe.

To his family and the ones that knew him the best, Big Sean was the protector and a gentle giant. He was full of love and compassion. He loved his children, his family, and his extended family. He was a voice of reason, someone who would give you stern advice but was understanding and you knew he was not going to pass judgement. Although he was quiet and reserved, he could easily make a friend in any crowd. Sean was a highly intelligent man. you could count on him to repair anything. He was the true definition of the master of none. From working on your car to building a speaker and charger to go with, his skills were limitless. Sean loved riding that highway and any chance he had to visit his older sisters in Georgia, he took it. It was like he was free to live. Big Sean had a love for Art. Even when out with family he gets the kid menu and crayons to color the perfect picture. He perfected his outlining and shading to a tee, even with only 3 crayons. Did you say something about chess? Sean loved to play chess, while also being able to teach you all about it.

To know Big Sean was to love him. He made an impact on everyone that will forever be something to cherish. His memory is a keepsake, with which we will never part. God has you in his keepings, but you are forever in our hearts.

Sean was preceded in death by his father Joseph Allen Sr. A best friend, Jason Anderson (Big Jay) who met him at the door on Dec 12th. Leaving behind is his mother, Charlene Allen (of East Moline), his two brothers: Maurice Steward and Joseph Allen Jr. (Both of Rock Island), his 3 sisters; Dawaon Allen-Edwards, Mammie Allen (both of Georgia) and Jolynn Drummond (of Rock Island. Sean Also had 4 children: Shanea Allen and granddaughter Faith Sussix (of St. Louis), Sean Allen Jr. (of Milan), Juanita Hickman (of Rock Island), and Josiah Riley (of Rock Island).  Sean also had 7 nieces: Shawntel Drummond, Taylar Edwards, Tanesha Allen, Kamesha Allen, Tiana Drummond, and Kampbell Allen. 5 nephews: Breon Allen Sr., Travon Allen, Anthony Edwards, Le'Quan Drummond, and Joe Allen.  He also had nine great nieces, 8 great nephews, a host of cousins and very close friends from childhood.
