It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Shannon Lynn Lawson, born on March 19, 1979, in Moline, Illinois. Shannon left this world on March 9, 2025, in Queen Creek, Arizona, at the age of 45.
Shannon was a compassionate and dedicated nurse, known for her unwavering commitment to caring for others within the medical field. Her associate's degree laid the foundation for a career marked by kindness, empathy, and a deep-seated desire to make a difference in the lives of her patients.
She leaves behind her beloved children, Tyler Lawson, Bianca Lawson, and Jackson Lawson, who were the light of her life. Shannon's enduring love for her family shone through in every moment she shared with them. She is also survived by her parents, Thomas and Patricia Mathis; siblings, Bobbie Sue (Jason) Heggen and Catherine (Jerad Rhodes) Mathis; bonus sister, Meredith (Aaron) Gerischer; nieces, Hayley Whitten and Desiree Whitten; and many more beloved friends and family members.
Throughout her life, Shannon enjoyed exploring new places and capturing the beauty of the world through photography. Her adventurous spirit extended to activities such as boating and paddle boarding, as well as roaring through the open roads on a motorcycle. Shannon's enthusiasm for life brought joy to all who knew her.
Funeral services for Shannon Lynn Lawson will be held on Friday, March 21, 2025, at 1:00 PM at Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home in Rock Island, Illinois. A visitation will precede the service from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM, offering family and friends an opportunity to pay their respects and share cherished memories. Following the service, Shannon will be laid to rest at Rock Island Memorial Park Cemetery. Memorials may be made in care of the family.
Shannon's spirit will live on in the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to know her. She will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered for her compassion, strength, and the profound impact she made on the lives of those around her.
