Sharon F. DeFrieze-Martin, 77, of Coal Valley, passed away on Saturday, January 23, 2016 at Cape Coral Hospital, Cape Coral, Florida. Services for Sharon will be 11 am, Monday at the Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home & Crematory, 3030 - 7th Ave., Rock Island. Visitation will be Sunday from 6 to 8 pm at funeral home. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Rock Island. Memorials may be made to Quad City Area Labor Management Council.

Sharon was born on October 13, 1938 in Rock Island, a daughter of John H. "Harold" McGovern and Clara Orth McGovern. She married Roy Martin in Rock Island. Sharon was the founder and executive director of the Quad City Area Labor Management Council.

Survivors include her husband, Roy Martin; children, John (Tamara) Buller, Coal Valley, David (Laura) Buller, Moline and Stephen (Jane Anne) Buller, Moline; grandchildren, Nicholas, Troy, Lindsey, Angus and Mattie; a great grandson, Lucas.
