Sharon M. Dusenberry, 73, of Rock Island, died Sunday, Feb. 22, 2015 at UnityPoint Health - Trinity Rock Island.

Funeral services are 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home, Rock Island. Visitation is 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Private burial will be at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to The Mayo Clinic, Rochester, Minn.

Sharon M. DeSmet was born July 15, 1941 in Rock Island, a daughter of Peter D. and Julia Yawoich DeSmet. She married Sam Dusenberry on Oct. 16, 1965 in Aledo.

She had managed Mother Hubbard's in Rock Island for 12 years and previously worked for Americlean, Rock Island.

Sharon was a member of the Rock Island Moose Lodge 190 and was a former senior regent. She was a wonderful cook, enjoyed doing craft work, traveling, working with stained glass, bowling and her trips to Branson. Sharon loved her family, especially her husband, Sam; her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and had a special fondness for their family holiday gatherings.

Survivors include her husband, Sam; children, Terry (Debbie) Calloway, Colona, Jeff Calloway, Rock Island, Dawn Mooney, Rock Island, and Dusty Dusenberry (Julie Anselmi), Rock Island; eight grandchildren; ten great grandchildren; and her brothers, Peter L. DeSmet, Rock Island, Tony (Jan) DeSmet, Broken Arrow, Okla., and Don (Nancy) DeSmet, Overland Park, Kan. She was preceded in death by her parents; grandsons, Eric and Brandon Calloway; and sister, Carol Knoeferl.
