Sharon L. "Bugs" Winters, 70, of Carbon Cliff, died Saturday, Sept. 30, 2017 at Hope Creek Care Center, East Moline.
Funeral services are 11 am Tuesday at South Park Presbyterian Church, Rock Island. Visitation is 3 to 7 Monday at the Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home and Crematory, 201 E. 4th Ave., Milan. Burial will be 9 am Tuesday at the Reynolds Cemetery. Memorials may be made to South Park Presbyterian Church or to the American Cancer Society.
Sharon L. Neaman was born Oct. 1, 1946 in Rock Island, a daughter of John and Joyce Johnson Neaman. She married Elgin "Skip" Winters on June 22, 1968 in Reynolds. He died Feb. 13, 2000.
Sharon graduated from Rockridge High School in 1964. She retired from the Rock Island Arsenal in April 2004, where she had worked for 27 years. She previously worked and volunteered at the American Cancer Society office in Moline.
She was a member of South Park Presbyterian Church, where she had served as a Deacon. Sharon had volunteered with the Thomas Jefferson School P.T.A., Milan and the Milan Little League. She enjoyed attending her grandson Cameron's school and athletic events.
Survivors include her sons and daughters-in-law, John and Minnie Winters, Silvis and Todd and Chrissy Winters, East Moline; grandchildren, Cameron Winters, East Moline, Ashlee (Nic Woods) Cressey, Council Bluffs, Iowa, Krystal (Nathan) Krogman, Clinton, Iowa, and Jacob (Faith) Witt, Anamosa, Iowa; six great-grandchildren; sister and brother-in-law, Janice and Dan Hofer, Reynolds; and bonus son, Doug (Lisa) Foster, Plano, Texas. She was preceded in death by her parents and husband.
