Sharon A. Redington, 87, of Rock Island, passed away Tuesday, January 31, 2023, at ProMedica Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation, Moline. Cremation rites will be accorded and private inurnment will be in Rock Island National Cemetery, Arsenal Island. Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home and Crematory, Rock Island is assisting with arrangements. Memorials may be made to Alleman Catholic High School, Rock Island.

Sharon was born on July 11, 1935, in Dubuque, Iowa, a daughter of Leo and Frances (O'Brien) Sullivan. She graduated from Alleman High School in 1953. Sharon then married James P. "Jim" Redington on February 16, 1963, in Moline. He preceded her in death on April 23, 2022. She retired from the business office at the former Franciscan Hospital in Rock Island. Sharon enjoyed keeping up with her friends, visiting Florida, and following the activities of her grandchildren.

Those left to honor Sharon's memory include her daughter, Molly Rea, Rock Island; sons, John (Robin) Redington, Rochelle, IL, and Jay Redington, Phoenix, AZ; grandchildren, Katie and Andrew Rea, Danny and Ben Redington, and Anna Redington; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Sharon was preceded in death by her parents; and husband, Jim Redington.
