Shawn R. Abbott, 62, of East Moline, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, April 21, 2026, at home. 

Shawn was born on March 25, 1964, in Chicago, IL, to Winfred and Sharon (Abbott) Buchanan. Those who knew her recognized her as a vibrant spirit, a true embodiment of joy and compassion. Shawn had an infectious love for music and dancing, often lighting up any gathering with her lively presence. She was not only the life of the party but also a nurturing soul who dedicated her time to volunteering and helping others, making a meaningful impact in the lives of those around her.

She leaves behind a loving legacy in her children: DeAndrew Abbott (Nicole), Tiffany Woods, Kenneth Patton, Jeremy Patton, and Anthony Abbott. Shawn is also survived by her partner, Daryl; a host of grandchildren; her devoted sister, Sharon Rogers; and beloved nieces, Shanera Taylor, Shauna Rogers, and Anita Abbott (Mark).

A celebration of Shawn's remarkable life will be held in the coming days, with funeral services to be announced shortly. The family invites all who were touched by Shawn's warmth and generosity to gather and share in the memories of her beautiful spirit. Memorial contributions may be made in care of the family.

Shawn was preceded in death by her parents, Winfred and Sharon; daughter, Adrian; granddaughter, Dania Abbott.
