Shawn Patrick Meguffy, 70, of Reynolds, died while surrounded by his family on Wednesday, April 23, 2025 at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics, Iowa City.  A funeral service will take place at 11 am Tuesday, April 29, 2025, at Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home and Crematory, 201 E. 4th Avenue, Milan, Illinois.  Visitation will be from 4-6:30 pm on Monday, April 28, 2025, at the funeral home.  Burial will take place in Reynolds Cemetery, Reynolds, Illinois.  Memorials may be made in care of the Tunnel to Towers Foundation.

Shawn was born in Moline, Illinois on October 31, 1954, a son of Patrick D. and Virginia "Gina" Nelson Meguffy. He grew up in East Moline and was a graduate of United Township High School. He married Susan Harbarger on October 4, 1980, in Reynolds, Illinois.

Shawn was a welder.  He worked for International Harvester and retired from McLaughlin Body Company.

Shawn was an avid outdoorsman.  He enjoyed fishing, hunting for pheasants, deer and rabbits as well as hunting for morel mushrooms.  Shawn also enjoyed tending to his garden and in retirement, spending time with his friends telling tales at "the office."

Those left to cherish his memory include his wife, Susan Meguffy, Reynolds, IL; children, Emily (Chad) Whipple, Sherrard, IL and Ryan (Jessica) Meguffy, Reynolds, IL; grandchildren, Kaden, Trevin and Grace; siblings, Kelly (Maggie) Meguffy, East Moline, IL, Margaret "Meg" (Terry) Woolsey, Cambridge, IL and Patrick (Mary) Meguffy, Milan, IL; sister-in-law, Bev Meguffy, Hillsdale, IL; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, grandparents and brothers, Daniel and Joel Meguffy.
