Shirley M. Meiresonne, 68, passed from this life November 26, 2015, in Webster, Texas.
A Memorial Mass will be 10 am Monday, May 9, 2016 at St. Pius X Catholic Church, Rock Island. Inurnment will be in Chippiannock Cemetery, Rock Island. Memorials in the form of donations may be made to the following: Leukemia Foundation, 5433 Westheimer, Suite 300, Houston, Texas 77056; Disabled American Veterans, 3725 Alexandria Pike, Cold Springs, Kentucky, 41076; or to the charity of your choice. Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home, Rock Island, assisted the family locally.
Born February 26, 1947 in Marinette, Wisconsin, Shirley had been a resident of Santa Fe, Texas., for 22 years, previously of Illinois. She had worked in numerous capacities for Alimak Hek/Champion Elevators for 30 years before retiring as an Administrative Assistant in 2010.
She was of the Catholic faith, attended Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, and was known as a good, hard worker who put her heart into everything she did, whether gardening, raising cattle or enjoying the time she spent with her family and friends, especially her "Texas Family
from Illinois". Shirley's home was well known as a hub of activity and she enjoyed the comradery that evolved from many things, including playing Spades, Hearts, and her favorite game, Euchre.
Survivors include her loving husband of 30 years, Bob Meiresonne; daughter, Tracy Guthrie-Kajdacsi and husband, Frank; grandchildren, Brittney Kajdacsi and Amber Kajdacsi; brothers, Raymond and Laura Semrau, David Semrau, Gene Semrau and Richard "Butch" Ermis, Jr. and wife Marcia; sister, Doris "Skip" Snow; step-father Richard Ermis, Sr.; numerous nieces, nephews and close friends. She was preceded in death by her father, Arnold Semrau; mother, Florence Ermis; sisters, Dorothy, Marion and Rose Mary Ella "Rosie" and brother, Myron.
