Shirley B. Stigers, 83, of Milan, passed away Friday August 1, 2014 at St. Anthony's Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Rock Island.

Funeral Services will be 1:00 PM on Wednesday, August 6, 2014 at Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home, 201 E. 4th Ave, Milan. Visitation will be 5 PM to 7 PM on Tuesday, August 5, 2014, at the funeral home. Burial will be at Rock Island Memorial Park Cemetery following the funeral service. Memorials may be made to the family.

Shirley was born July 12, 1931, in Rock Island County, the daughter of Edward and Edith (Staassen) Nowack. She married Dale Stigers on December 19, 1953 in Rock Island. He preceded her in death on June 7, 2014. Shirley always enjoyed doing crossword puzzles and being with her family.

She will be remembered by her two sons, Thomas (Kathy) Stigers, Milan, and Randy Stigers, Reynolds; her three daughters, Patricia Crawford, Rock Island, Susan (Brian) Keller, Wisconsin, and Sally (Larry) Piasecki, Sherrard; her 10 grandchildren; her 17 great-grandchildren; and her brother-in-law Jerry Smith, Altona. She was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years Dale Stigers; her parents; her two sisters Donna Smith and Arlene Kling; and her brother Edward "Elmer" Nowack.
