Stephanie Ann Sullivan, 82, of Taylor Ridge, passed away on Sunday, April 19, 2026, at Friendship Manor, Rock Island. Stephanie was born on September 21, 1943, in Eglin Field, Florida, daughter of John and Shirley (Voss) Foulk. She attended school and graduated from Rock Island High School in 1961.
Stephanie married James W. Sullivan on February 27, 1965. Stephanie worked on the Rock Island Arsenal starting as a clerk in her early years and supported foreign military sales (FMS) in her later years. After retirement, she enjoyed volunteering at Trinity Moline Hospital.
Stephanie was an industrious, loving woman. Working alongside Jim to provide and care for her family. She was a voracious cleaner. Beginning on Thursday evenings and finishing on Friday evenings so that she could do “fun” stuff with her family on the weekends. Throughout the years she pursued ceramics, knitting, reading, bowled and even had a few cats. Stephanie and Jim also enjoyed much travel in their retirement. When she had grandchildren, she did it all over again. Attending as many events as possible, band, singing, show choir, dance, to name a few.
She is survived by her husband of 61 years, Jim: children, Mark (Diane) Sullivan of Ely, Iowa, James Sullivan of Pekin, Illinois, and Cara (Dwaine) Heppler of Ames, Iowa; grandchildren, Caitlin (Tyler) Arnburg, Hailey (Dirk) Clark, Grant Sullivan, Savanna Sullivan, Jack Heppler, Tait Heppler, and Lily Heppler; great-granddaughter Ada Arnburg; sisters Joan Sladek, Tennessee and Molly (Dennis) Forslund, Rock Island. Stephanie was preceded in death by her parents.
Stephanie’s funeral service will be at 11:00am on Friday, April 24, 2026, at All Saints Episcopal Church, 3145 31st Ave, Rock Island, IL 61201. Visitation will be held from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm on Thursday, April 23, 2026, at Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home and Crematory, 201 E. 4th Ave, Milan, IL. Inurnment will be at Rock Island Memorial Park.
