Stephen A. Kibort, 79, of Milan, died Tuesday, Nov. 28, 2017 at Bickford Cottage, Moline.

Funeral services will be 1 pm Sunday at the Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home and Crematory, 201 E. 4 Ave., Milan.  Visitation is 11 am until service time Sunday.  Memorials may be made to the Quad City Animal Welfare Center, Milan.

Stephen was born Dec. 14, 1937 in Chicago, the son of Stephen and Annette Shimkus Kibort.  He had worked as a service manager for BP Amoco in the Chicago area for over 20 years.  Upon moving to the Quad Cities, he served as service manager at Sexton Ford, Moline, Reynolds Ford, East Moline and lastly at Lindquist Ford, Bettendorf.

Steve was a U.S. Air Force veteran.  He enjoyed doing yard work, racing stock cars and playing racquet ball.

Survivors include his loving companion of 37 years, Velma Sergeant, Milan; daughter, Wendi Houswerth, Franklin Park, Ill.; daughter-in-law, Patty Kibort, Glendale Heights, Ill.; grandchildren, Stephen Houswerth, Shawn Houswerth and Candi Klaas; and five great grandchildren.  He was preceded in death by his parents and son, Scott Kibort.
