Steven Glen Akers, infant son of Skylar Grace Ven Huizen and Travis Glen Akers, both of Geneseo, was born silently on Tuesday, July 29, 2014 at Genesis Medical Center, Illini Campus, Silvis. Private services for Steven will be held on Thursday, July 31, 2014 at the Erie Christian Church. Burial will be in the Erie Cemetery. Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home, Rock Island is in charge of the arrangements.

Survivors include his parents; grandparents, Kathy and Butch Motzer, Geneseo, Jeff and Cheryl Akers, St. Peters, MO., and David and Lisa Ven Huizen, Rock Island; aunts and uncles, Victoria Ven Huizen and her fiancé, Isaac Ritter, Geneseo, Ryan and Jessica Akers, Atkinson, and David Snyder, St. Peters, MO.; great grandparents, Carol and K.B. Melton, Erie, Karol and Stan Clementz, Prophetstown, Joe and Pat Tinsley, Fredericktown, MO., Glen and Karen Akers, Bowling Green, KY., and Vernon and Lonavene Ven Huizen, Fulton; and several great aunts, great uncles; and many cousins.
