Steven A. Ballard, 64, of Rock Island, passed away Thursday, November 23, 2017 at OSF St. Francis Medical Center, Peoria.  Funeral services for Steve will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at the First Christian Church, 3501 7 ^th St., East Moline, with Rev. Bill Coley officiating.  Visitation will be 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at the Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home and Crematory, 3030 7 ^th Ave., Rock Island.  Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Rock Island.  Memorials may be made to First Christian Church, East Moline or to the family.

Steve was born on January 16, 1953 in Moline, the son of Raymond Harvey and Virginia Anne (Case) Ballard.  He married Faith Ann Yeater on June 9, 2001 at First Christian Church, East Moline.  He worked in Information Technology for New Era Financial for many years, retiring due to disability in 2005.  Steve was a proud member of First Christian Church, East Moline, where he served on the church board and as a deacon.  Steve also greatly enjoyed playing guitar, camping, photography, bird watching and many other outdoor and nature related activities.

Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Faith; children, Elizabeth (Tim) Boyer, Silvis; Janelle Ballard, Rock Island; Matthew (Audrey) Ballard, Beloit, WI; Melissa (Christian) Benford, Milton, WI; step-children, Christina (Craig) DePauw, Davenport; Susan Murphy, Davenport; Janice Terrell, Davenport and Kevin Paulson, Huntsville, AL; 19 grandchildren and many other loving family members and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents and granddaughter, Alyssa Ballard.
