Steven R. Bragg, 63, of Andalusia, passed away Thursday May 1, 2014 at home, surrounded by family and close friends, after an extended illness.A Liturgy of Christian Burial will be 11:00am Wednesday at St. Patrick's Catholic Church, Taylor Ridge. Visitation will be 4:00-8:00pm Tuesday at Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home, Rock Island. In lieu of flowers memorials may be left to the family.

Steven was born on March 17, 1951 in Kirksville, MO., the son of Edward M. and Virginia C. (Barrickman) Bragg. He married Shirley Ann Green, she preceded him in death. He later married Christine Ann VanWychen on August 8, 2003.

Mr. Bragg was a United States Marine Corp. Veteran. He was the owner of Steve's Standard (Fort Bragg), Andalusia, for over 40 years, retiring in 2011. Steven was also the co-owner of The Stump Guys with Jim Balmer.

Steven had attended Rock Island Schools, he enjoyed golfing, deer hunting and spending time with his family and close friends.

Survivors include his wife, Christine; mother, Virginia Coleen Bragg; daughter, JoLayne(Mike) Ford; sons, Mike(Brittany) Kenney, Sam(Tashia Bermel) Preston; grandchildren, Michael, Christopher, Marston, Miranda; brother, Billy(Sharon) Bragg; sister, Diana(Dan) Gough; several nieces and nephews; brothers and sisters in law, Ed(Sherry) VanWychen, Lois Strosche, Deb(Tony)Brzostowski, Barb(Danny) McKay, Mary(Monte) Keller, Jr.(Janis) Green, Vicki Green; special friend, Molly Cook; and furry friend, Toby.

He was preceded in death by his father, Edward; father in law, Donald VanWychen; brothers in law, Mike and Bob VanWychen.
