Steven Michael Edell, 56, of Daviston, Ala., originally from the Milan area, died Tuesday, Jan. 10, 2017 at the University of Alabama Hospital, Birmingham.

A memorial service will be held at 2:30 pm on Sunday at the Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home and Crematory, Milan.  Visitation is 12:30 until service time.  Cremation rites were accorded.  Private burial will be at a later date.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the family.

Steve was born Feb. 17, 1960 in Moline, a son of Keith and Dorothy Marx Edell.

Steve attended schools in the Rock Island-Milan School District and attended Black Hawk College.  He worked at the Eagles Grocery Story in Milan, and later worked at several machine shops in the area.

Steve was a member of Zion Lutheran Church, Taylor Ridge.

Survivors include a daughter, Kristal, in Florida; a granddaughter; his mother and step-father, Dorothy and Stan Mueller, Coal Valley; brother, Keith "Rock" (Kim) Edell, East Moline; sister, Debbie (Brian) Farber, Milan; nieces; nephews; great-nieces; great-nephews; and a special great-niece, Ariah.

He was preceded in death by his father; paternal grandparents,
Henry and Luvnia Phelps; and maternal grandparents, John and Dorothy Marx.
