Steven M. Holmquist, 62, of East Moline, passed away Monday, October 6, 2014 at his home.

A Memorial Service will be held at 4:00 PM on Friday, October 10, 2014 at Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home, 3030 7th Ave, Rock Island. Visitation will be 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM Friday before the service. Memorials may be made to the family.

Steven was born July 6, 1952, in Moline, IL, the son of Robert and Vivian (Minarsich) Holmquist. He worked as a plumber and pipe fitter for the Local Union 25 for 40 years in Rock Island.

Steven was an avid deer and pheasant hunter, and enjoyed going salmon fishing in Wisconsin. He also liked spending time watching NASCAR and drag racing.

Steven will be remembered by his mother Vivian (Leonard) Magier, Moline; his daughter Melisa (Chris) Wagler, Rock Island; his grandson Samuel Wagler, Rock Island; his two granddaughters Madeline and Haley Wagler, Rock Island; his brother Larry Holmquist, Missouri; and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father and his brother Joseph Holmquist.
