Steven A. Johnson, 76, of Rapids City passed away on Friday, March 18, 2022 at Genesis Medical Center, Silvis.

A graveside service with military honors will be at 12 pm on Thursday at Rock Island National Cemetery, Arsenal Island. Those who wish to attend can meet at Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home and Crematory, 3030 7th Ave Rock Island, at 11:30 am on Thursday.

Steve was born on October 22, 1945 in Davenport, IA, a son of Lowell Meredith Johnson and Katherine Ada Towne. He married Rhonda Jackson on April 11, 1970 in Milan, IL. Steve was a Vietnam Veteran and served with the United States Navy. He worked for Alcoa and retired after 25 years of service. Steve's hobbies include reading, history, model airplanes, boats and his 1968 Camaro. He thoroughly enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his grandkids.

Those left to cherish his memory include his wife, Rhonda; sons, Scott Allen and Nickolas Brandon; and grandchildren, Nikole, Nathan and Timothy.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Roger; sister, Sue; and several aunts, uncles and cousins.
