Steven was born July 18, 1940, in Keithsburg, IL to Benjamin N. and Alice Fay Reeder. Steven was a United States Army veteran serving during the Vietnam War. He married Judy Frakes on May 27, 1997, in Macomb, IL. Steven graduated from Rock Island High School, and after military service, worked at J. I. Case as a Purchasing Agent. After retiring from J. I. When his children were young, he loved taking them to Minnesota for a vacation in a cabin where they enjoyed outdoors activities like fishing.
