Steven M. Velge, 68, of Rock Island, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, February 20, 2018 at his home. Private graveside services for Mr. Velge will be at the Rock Island National Cemetery, Arsenal Island. Memorials may be made to a favorite charity. Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home and Crematory, Rock Island is assisting the family. Steven was born on September 7, 1949 in Moline, the son of Francis and Mabel (Scanlan) Velge. Steve had worked for the Illinois Department of Transportation. He was a member of the Milan American Legion Post No. 569. and the Rock Island Conservation Club. Steve was a U.S. Army Veteran.
