Steven W. Parr, 65, of Rock Island, passed away Saturday, November 12, 2022, at his residence.

A private graveside service will be held at Memorial Park Cemetery, Rock Island.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the family.

Steve was born on August 12, 1957, in Rock Island, the son of William "Bill" and Shirley (Stevenson) Parr Sr.  He worked as a mechanic at Parr Small Engine Repair, Rock Island.  Steve enjoyed fishing, hunting, morel mushroom hunting, camping, tinkering with small engines, and spending time at the family property.  Steve spent a lot of time at Black Hawk State Historic Site, looking for Indian artifacts and observing the Black Hawk Indian festivities "Pow Wows."  The bald eagle days was a yearly event for him and his family.  He was the one you knew you could call and he would be there to lend a helping hand.  Steve was dedicated to his family and loved every minute he spent with them, especially his grandchildren.  His greatest trait was the love he had for people, accepting them as part of his family from the moment he met them and treating everyone the same.

Steve is survived by his daughter, Renee (Jason) McClanahan, Muscatine; grandchildren, Sethan (Donna) Whitlow, Porscha McClanahan, Cody McClanahan, Brenton Whitlow, Rypleigh McClanahan, and Gracyn McClanahan; one great grandchild on the way; siblings, William (Marchia) Parr Jr., Geneseo, Kathy Parr, Orion, Vickie (Paul) Slusser, Cambridge, Anna (Henry) Parr-Ethridge, Moline, and Tammy (Kevin) Arey, Cordova; honorary grandson, Dylan Zaehringer; and multiple nieces and nephews.  He was preceded in death by his parents; and brothers, Danny, Ricky, and Terry Parr.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff at UPH-Trinity ICU and UP-Hospice for the great care and compassion they gave to Steve and his family.
