Steven Craig Zarske, 68, of Rock Island, passed away Sunday, Nov. 22, 2015, at home.

Visitation will be 10-11 a.m. Friday at Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home, Rock Island. Graveside services will follow at 11:30 a.m. at Rock Island National Cemetery, with military honors by Moline American Legion Post 246.

Steven was born on Jan. 7, 1947, in Galesburg, the son of Newland and Carol Zarske. He married Bonnie Hornback on Dec. 6, 1970.

Mr. Zarske was a United States Air Force veteran.

He loved spending time with his wife, daughters and grandchildren. He never ended a phone call without saying "I love you" to his girls. He was a dedicated, lifelong Cubs fan, and enjoyed the Chicago Bears and Bulls. He was outgoing; the type of man who could carry a conversation with anyone, and his friendliness would always show. Underneath his bushy beard, was one of the biggest smiles one could see.

Those left to cherish his memory include his wife of 45 years, Bonnie; daughters, Tina Harris, Autumn Dzekunskas, Carol (Christopher) Lester, Stephanie Zarske; grandchildren, Wesley, Jacob, Courtney, Melissa, Brandon, Nathan, Natalie, Drew, Jaida, Bryce, Blake; great-grandson, Karter; sister, Nancy (Tom) Gawthrop; and brother, Tom (Robbie) Zarske.
