Sue Anne Westerfield, 85, Rock Island, IL passed away on Monday, May 13, 2024 at her home surrounded by family. There will be a visitation from 5-7:00 PM on Thursday, May 16, 2024 at Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home and Crematory, Milan. The funeral service will be at 10:00 AM on Friday, May 17, 2024 at First Presbyterian Church, Milan. Burial at Rock Island Memorial Park. Memorials may be made to the church.

Sue was born on August 16, 1938 to Kenneth and Vyrna (Stringer) Muntz in Canton, IL. She grew up in Canton where she graduated high school and then later attended Beauty School in Peoria.

On August 31, 1957 Sue was united in marriage to Galen Westerfield in Canton. The couple lived briefly in Wisconsin before moving to Rock Island where they made their home and raised their two children.

Sue worked at Farrar Insurance, American Bank, and later served as the assistant librarian at the Rock Island High School for over ten years, until her retirement.

Sue was a Past Elder and very active member of the First Presbyterian Church in Milan. She was a Past President and Treasurer of the Milan Presbyterian Women, involved with the Milan Food Pantry and Founder of the JCettes. She enjoyed meeting every Tuesday with the "Cover Girls" at church.

Sue cherished the time she spent with her family and she will be greatly missed by her husband of 66 years, Galen; children, Gayla (Brian) Staes and Jeff Westerfield; grandchildren, JT Westerfield, Jake Westerfield, and Griffen Staes; great-granddaughter, Gabriella Westerfield; and sister, Judith Henderson.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and sister, Bonnie VanHouten.
