Susan K. Kernan, 66, of Moline, died Sept. 5, 2016 at Rosewood Care Center, Moline, after many years of extended illnesses.

A memorial service will be held at 4 pm on Friday, Sept. 16, at St. James Lutheran Church, Rock Island.  There will be a gathering in the Church's Fellowship Hall celebrating Sue's life and friendship following the service.  Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home and Crematory, Rock Island is assisting the family.  Memorials may be made to St. James Lutheran Church, or to a favorite charity.

Susan Kathryn Kernan was born Sept. 4, 1950 in Moline, the daughter of Carl and Frances Warner Kernan.

She graduated from Moline High School in 1968.  Sue worked full-time for the Quad Cities Airport, Bethany Home, the Quad Cities Golf Tournament, Enterprise Systems Group, WNBC-TV and WALT-TV.

Sue was a member of St. James Lutheran Church, Rock Island, where she had served as vice-chair of the church council.  She enjoyed singing, travel, and volunteer work.  Sue loved music and reading.

Those left to cherish her memory, include half-brothers, Chuck Miller and Tom (Gloria) Miller and their children; and many dear friends, including her Lake Wapello camping family.
