Susanna Kay McCormick, 83, passed away on Thursday, January 23, 2025 in Rock Island, IL. A visitation will be hosted by her family on Wednesday, January 29, 2025 from 4-6:00 PM at the Wheelan-Pressley Funeral Home in Rock Island. Graveside services will take place at 12:00 PM on Thursday, January 30, 2025 at Graceland Cemetery in Webster City, IA. Memorial donations can be made to the Moose Lodge of Rock Island.
Susie was born on August 1, 1941 in Webster City, IA to parents Pearl Pauline (Clausen) and Arthur J. Heidick. After graduating from Webster City High School and beauty school, she opened her own beauty salon and had her daughter, Shelley.
On March 9, 1985, Susie married John McCormick at the Little Brown Church in Nashua, IA. Susie and John enjoyed 36 years of marriage together. They shared a love of going out with friends, country music, and going on drives around the region discovering new restaurants and enjoying the scenery.
Susie loved her community of friends immensely. She enjoyed regular gatherings with her card clubs, quilting group, Red Hats, and she was involved in the Moose Lodge where she spent many happy times. Susie was close with her family and especially loved getting together with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Her family includes her grandson, Sean (Hannah) Hosseini and their children Layla, Cora, Sullivan, and Franklin; granddaughter Ashley (Rob) Hosseini and their children Reza and Ari; stepdaughter Holly (Craig) Buckholtz and their children Vanessa, Joey, and Angela; nephew Chip (Kristin) Zehner and their children Emersyn and Rowan; brother-in-law Donald Zehner; and son-in-law Moji Hosseini. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Shelley; her sister, Margie; her husband, John; and her parents.
