Obituary

Tamara Denise Perkins, affectionately known as Tammy, was born to Eugene Felix and Dorothy Gene Perkins (Lomas) on July 11,1959. Tamara grew up in Davenport IA. She attended Lincoln Elementary, Sudlow Junior High, and Central High School. She soon relocated to Minneapolis, Minnesota, where she attended Summit Academy Opportunities Industrialization Center, also known as TCOIC, where she received her G.E.D.

She met Ruby Alexander who introduced her to Christ in 1992. She then started her journey of salvation at United Deliverance Temple (UDT), under the tutelage of Bishop Alex Alexander. She has been on the lord's side ever since. Tammy was a devoted servant of God who dedicated her life to establishing his kingdom here on earth. Her faith was not only something she professed, but it was also something she lived out daily through her unwavering commitment to the body of Christ, local church and community. Throughout the years she's served in many capacities from a praise and worship leader, a traveling choir member, Sunday school teacher, Reader for the Pastor, and event planner, with her favorite role being a diligent secretary.

Her passion for helping others led her to a career as a coordinated entry case worker, supportive housing coordinator and an influential member of the supportive housing peer association, (Shippa).

On Friday, November 7th, 2025, Tamara took the Lord's hand and peacefully departed this life. Those left to cherish Tamara's memory and continue her legacy include her sister, Charis K. Perkins (Kaycee); daughter, Shalonda Mayfield (Perkins); son, Terrace Perkins; three grandchildren, Orlando Fitzgerald (MN), Tyriel Mayfield (IA), and Terrace Perkins Jr. (IA). She was preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Valire, Piper, and Eugenia; and brother, Broc.
