Tameka D. Payney, 46, of Rock Island passed away on Friday, March 10, 2023.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 am on Saturday, March 25, 2023 at Greater Antioch Missionary Baptist Church, Rock Island. Visitation will be from 4:00 to 6:00 pm on Friday, March 24, 2023 at Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home and Crematory, Rock Island.  Burial will be in Chippiannock Cemetery, Rock Island.  Memorials may be made in care of the family.

Tameka was born on January 19, 1977, in Rock Island, a daughter of David Brodnax and Eloise Davis-Teague. She graduated from Rock Island High School in 1995. She worked as the food and beverage supervisor for Double Tree by Hilton in Davenport. Tameka had gifted hands and was talented in many things, including hair, make up, nails, decorating, and cooking. She was a very kind hearted person and will always be remembered by her big smile.

Those left to cherish Tameka's memory include her daughters, Hailey Payney and Amiyah Smith; granddaughter, Lehlani Payney; mom, Eloise Davis-Teague (Darryl Smith); stepfather, Mark Teague; grandmother Erma Jean Davis; siblings, Antwon Davis, Darryl Smith Jr., Tyrell Teague, Tremaine Teague; Shannon Jones, Joshua Brodnax, and; uncles Quincy (Tonya) Davis, Earnest Davis; aunts Elvis Davis, and Patricia Davis, and a host of nieces and nephews.

Tameka was preceded in death by her dad, David Brodnax, grandfather, Ira Lee Davis, Uncle Terry Davis, and brother, Charleston Dilworth.
