April 29, 1963 – October 3, 2016
Tanja Lynn Hamilton-Duffey, 53 of Davenport, passed away on Monday, Oct. 3, 2016, at the University Hospitals, Iowa City, with her husband, Roger, daughter, Toria and son-in-law, Brandon Wilson at her bedside.
A memorial service will be noon Saturday at St. Paul Lutheran Church, Davenport. Visitation is 10 a.m. until service time Saturday at the church. Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home and Crematory, Rock Island, is assisting the family. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations, be made to St. Jude Children's Hospital, Memphis, Tennessee.
Tanja was born in Wakefield, Michigan, April 29, 1963. She attended Wakefield High School and Northern Michigan University before earning a Master's Degree in Clinical Psychology from Marquette University in Milwaukee. Tanja worked for many years as a therapist helping numerous patients with mental health issues, including years where she counseled members of the Military and their families as a Military and Family Life Counselor (MFLC) for the Department of Defense. Her most recent work was for Holt International where she assisted families with international adoptions.
Tanja is survived by her husband, Roger; daughter, Toria (Brandon) Wilson of Davenport; mother, Sharon Hamilton of Wakefield; sisters, Tara Hamilton of Wakefield, Toni (Tim) Viegut of Omro, Wisconsin, and Tracie (Mark) Alexander of Wausau, Wisconsin; step-sons, John (Meghan) Duffey of Mount Pleasant, Wisconsin, and Robert (Kelijo) Duffey of New Berlin, Wisconsin; grandchildren, Christopher, Patrick and Joslin Duffey, and numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, in-laws and family friends.
She was preceded in death by her daughter, Tralee Christine Duffey and her father, Larry Hamilton of Wakefield.
