Tarlie M. McKinney, Rock Island, IL passed away on Tuesday, August 27, 2024 in Clarksville, TN. There will be a visitation from 5-7:00 PM at Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home and Crematory, Rock Island on Thursday, September 5, 2024. The funeral service will be on Friday, September 6, 2024 at 11:00 AM at Olivet Baptist Church.

Tarlie was born on August 9, 1938 to Lonnie and Ella (Young) Richardson in Guntown, MS where she graduated high school. After moving to Rock Island Tarlie was employed by A.D. Huesing for over 40 years, from which she retired.

Tarlie was a longtime member of Olivet Baptist Church. Tarlie enjoyed gardening, cooking, fishing, vacationing, and spending time with family.

Left to cherish memory are her children, Walter (Cornelia) McKinney, Dennis McKinney, Patricia Peterson, Tonya Shepard; brothers, Lee (Louise), James (Paquita) and Willie Richardson; sister, Jackie Richardson; a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her parents; sons, Donald, Jerry McKinney; sons-in-law, Marshaan Shepard and David Peterson; grandsons, Jayovontae Roberts, and Duane Henderson; siblings, Annie Clark, Ann Foulks, Charles, Leroy, Lester, Lawrence, Herbert, and Lonnie Q. Richardson.
