Ted F. Roberts, 70, of Milan, passed away on Wednesday, February 28, 2018 at his home comforted by loved ones.  Services for Ted will be 1 pm, Monday at Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home and Crematory, Milan. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Edgington Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the family.  Ted was born on January 6th, 1948 in Guin, Al. to parents Lee Roy and Delia (Shirley) Roberts. He married the love of his life, Nancy (Linder) on May 14, 1965. Ted was an avid mechanic, always the guy you'd come to if you needed help. If there was a problem he'd fix it. In addition to being handy, Ted was loving and knew his way to his numerous grandchildren hearts. Ted never hesitated to send a sly grin towards parents as he snuck a cookie to his grandchildren. Ted always made sure no one left hungry or without a hug and a "Love you". Throughout his life, he was a true outdoors man. He was involved in Rock River Rangers black powder, RICC, Milan Rifle Club, NRA, Isaac Walton, Ducks Unlimited and NWTF. He was most proud to be a pit crew member of Roberts Motorsports. A special thank you to everyone who has provided comfort during Ted's battle with cancer, whether it be by means of donation or just stopping by to brighten up his day.  Ted leaves behind his wife Nancy; children, Tammy (Ken) Havemann of Edgington, Ron (Gayle) Roberts of Milan; brothers Tony (Chris) Roberts of Milan and Lee (Darlene) Roberts of Colona, brother in heart Larry "Squirrel" Shirley of Preemption; five grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.  Ted was proceeded in death by his parents; infant daughter, Judy; and his brothers Preston, Troy, and Hershel Roberts.
