Terry W. LeVan, 66, of Rock Island, died Wednesday, May 10, 2017 at UnityPoint Health - Trinity Rock Island.
Funeral services will be 10 am Tuesday at Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home and Crematory, 3030 7 Ave., Rock Island. Visitation is 4 to 7 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. Memorials may be given to the family for a memorial to be determined later.
Terry was born Oct. 25, 1950 in Moline, a son of Clarence R. and Maureen Eechaute LeVan. He married Alice L. Heussner on March 18, 1972 in Davenport.
Terry graduated from Alleman High School in 1968. He then graduated from Black Hawk College, Moline and in 1969 from Lutheran Hospital School of Respiratory Technology. He began his distinguished career in respiratory and cardiopulmonary services at St. Anthony's Hospital, Rock Island, working as a licensed respiratory care practitioner. He later served as director of Cardiopulmonary Services at Franciscan Hospital and then Trinity Medical Center, both of Rock Island. He retired from Pekin Hospital, Pekin, Ill., where he was director of Diagnostics and Cardiopulmonary Services.
He was a member of St. Pius X Catholic Church, National Rifle Association, National Wildlife Turkey Federation, Ducks Unlimited, American Association of Respiratory Care, Allouez Council 658 Knights of Columbus, Milan Rifle Club, Quad Cities In-Fisherman Club, and the Rock Island Conservation Club. Terry enjoyed hunting and fishing, but his greatest love was for his family, especially his grandchildren.
Survivors include his wife, Alice; son and daughter-in-law, Cory and Amanda LeVan, Rock Island; daughter, Melissa LeVan, Rock Island; grandchildren, Emily, Riley and Collin LeVan; siblings, Cheryl Frakes, Milan, Kent (Judy) LeVan, Cedar Rapids, Iowa, and Beth (Don) Albracht, Overland Park, Kan.; sister-in-law, Diane (Kent) Schroder, Davenport; and nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents.
