Terry M. Toppert, 51, of Sherrard, passed away on Tuesday, July 19, 2016 at his home in East Moline.  Funeral services will be held at  7:00 p.m. on Thursday at the Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home and Crematory, Rock Island.  Visitation will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. prior to services.  Per Terry's wishes, cremation rites will follow services.  Memorials may be made in care of Bobbi Hansen for the Terry Toppert Memorial Benefit.

Terry was born on October 19, 1964 in Bloomington, IL, the son of Carolyn King Toppert.  Upon his graduation, Terry enrolled at Scott Community College, where he earned an Associate's Degree.  He  owned several businesses over the years, including RC Auto in Aledo and Terry's Automotive in Milan.  Terry had most recently worked at Courtesy Nissan in Moline.

Terry loved drag racing, it was his true life's passion.   He was a longtime drag racer at Cordova Dragway Park where he made many friends.  Terry was an Uncle and father figure to many and was always willing to help a friend in need.

Terry is survived by his significant other, Bobbi Hansen, East Moline; daughter, Sarah Becraft, Coralville, IA; mother, Carolyn Toppert, New Port Richey, FL; sister, Laura Crowley, Winfield, IL., and several aunts, uncles and cousins.  He is also survived by his beloved Racing family and his dog, Riley.
