Thelma Irene Montgomery, 91, of Milan, passed away Sunday July 30, 2017 in the comfort of her home.

A graveside service will be held 11:00am, Wednesday August 2, 2017 in Rock Island National Cemetery. Those wishing to attend should meet 10:30am at Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home, Rock Island.

Thelma was born on April 27, 1926 in Industry, IL, the daughter of Edgar and Clara Teel. She married Loyd Edward Montgomery on June 7, 1947 in Moline.

Thelma was employed as a Stanley Home Products dealer and also conducted Market Research for a number of companies. She volunteered her time as a Cub Scout Den Mother and was a volunteer for the American Cancer Society. She enjoyed reading, cooking and solving crossword puzzles.

Survivors include her sons, Mark(Patricia) Montgomery, Milan, Brad(Carla) Montgomery, Andalusia, Tracey(Toni) Montgomery, Dixon, Monte Montgomery, Milan; sister, Patricia (Jerry) Mayo, Plymouth, IL; grandchildren, Dana Kipp, Melissa(Brett) Hugart, Amy(Mike) Lavery, Abby(Jerry) Hoggard, Paul Montgomery, Kyle(Kelsey) Montgomery and six great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Loyd in 1980; brothers, Robert and Carl Teel; sister, Nina DuShane; daughter, Pamela Kipp; and son Dave Montgomery.
