Theresa M. Birch, 90, formerly of Rock Island and Milan, passed away
Monday February 27, 2017 at HCR/ManorCare, Arlington Heights, IL after a
lengthy and valiant battle with MDS.

Memorial services will be 12:30 p.m. Friday, March 10th at
Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home and Crematory, 3030 - 7th Avenue, Rock
Island. No visitation is planned. Inurnment will be at National
Cemetery, Arsenal Island. Memorials may be made to The Leukemia &

Theresa was born November 1, 1926 in Manteno, IL, a daughter of Robert
P. and Marie H. (Martin) Bertrand. She married Frederick J. Birch on May
22, 1948 in Berwyn, IL. He preceded her in death on May 27, 1994.
Theresa was also preceded in death by her sister, Alice M. Killey.
She was a homemaker who loved music, pets and crossword puzzles.
Theresa had been a literacy volunteer as well as active in various clubs
over the years, where her infectious laugh was appreciated by many.

Surviving are her daughter, Patricia M. Dombek; son, Robert F. Birch;
her most beloved grandchildren, Matthew Foley, and his wife Stephanie,
Alex Foley, and his wife Ashley, and Amanda Birch.
