Theresa "Tracy" Marie Hansen, 58, of Milan, lost her battle with Cancer on Tuesday January 17, 2017 surrounded by her loving husband John and family.
A service celebrating her life will be held at 10am Saturday at Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home, 3030-7th Ave, Rock Island. Visitation will be from 5-8pm Friday at the funeral home. Interment will be in Chippiannock Cemetery, Rock Island. In lieu of flowers memorials may be left to the family.
Theresa M. (Kipping) was born on August 1, 1958 to Jean Marie Kipping. She married the love of her life, John Hansen on October 12, 1985.
Tracy as everyone called her, worked for the Corp of Engineers and Service Rubber before she went to work at Rock Island Electric Motor Repair. She later went to work at Jumers Casino Rock Island before returning to Rock Island Electric.
Tracy's first love was her family and countless friends. Anyone that knew Tracy knows she loved her Chicago Cubs and on November 2, 2016 they became World Series Champions. Tears of joy were shed that night as she witnessed the "curse of the goat" come to an end. She was a avid golfer and loved sports in general. Tracy completed her first Ragbrai in 2012 and enjoyed competing in triathlons, mud runs and anything she felt would challenge her.
Survivors include her loving husband John, sons, Benjamin (Tracy) Hansen, Streamwood, IL, Jeff Hansen, Rock Island; daughter, Andrea (Wade) Anderson, Rock Island; grandchildren, Emily, Ethan, and Erin Hansen, Streamwood, IL, Owen Hansen and Gauge Anderson, Rock Island; sisters, Julie (Alex) Rottman, Bettendorf, Kandice Rowe, Ohio; brothers, John Kipping Jr.(Margie), Ohio, David (Becky) Ward, Sabula, Larry (Natalie) Cook, Rock Island, Jimmy (Tammy) Cook, Toronto, IA; aunt, Emily Delaney, Dewitt; uncle, Jim Ehredt, Clinton; many loving nieces and nephews; best friends, Barb and Jess Hansen, Beth Melcher and Dawn and Dave Milam; many loving cousins and countless friends.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Jean; sisters, Kim Sanders and Marie Kline. May they all rest in peace.
The family would like to thank the nurses and patient care techs at Unity Point Health- Trinity West 4 south and Dr. Garneau for their kindness and compassionate care during this difficult time.
