Obituary

Thomas R. Elliott, 62, of Rock Island, passed away suddenly on Sunday, Feb. 1, 2015 at UnityPoint Health - Trinity Rock Island.

Funeral services are 11:00 a.m. Friday at the Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home, Rock Island. Burial is at Memorial Park Cemetery, Rock Island. Visitation is 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the Quad City Animal Welfare Center, Milan.

Thomas Ray Elliott was born Oct. 7, 1952 in Rock Island, a son of Nelson and Helen Gritton Elliott. He married Judy Miers Colgan on Apr. 7, 2001 in Rock Island.

Tom graduated from Rock Island High School in 1970 and attended Scott Community College. He worked 39 years at John Deere Harvester, East Moline, and retired in 2013.

He served in the Illinois National Guard. Tom was a member of U.A.W. Local 865, East Moline. He enjoyed bowling, playing golf, hanging out in the garage, classic cars and was a Chicago Bears, Chicago Cubs and Brian Vickers NASCAR fan. Tom liked vacationing with friends and all animals, but his greatest love was for his family, especially his wife, Judy.

Those left to cherish his memory include his wife, Judy; daughter, Tera Elliott, Hampton; sons, Jeff (Monica) Elliott and Ryan Elliott, both of Des Moines, Iowa; stepdaughters, Carly Colgan (Mary), Denver, Colo., and Christy Colgan, Peoria, Ill.; stepson, Andy Colgan, Des Moines; grandchildren, Courtney, Audrey, Alexa, Chelsey, Alyssa, Mia, Anna, and Journey; great-grandchildren, Cali, Tyde and Kadence; and sister-in-law, Diane McMullen, Silvis. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Dick McMullen.
