Thomas E. Hauman, 93, of Rock Island, passed away on Friday, July 12, 2024, at Friendship Manor, Rock Island. Graveside services for Mr. Hauman will be 1 pm, Friday, July 26, 2024, at Calvary Cemetery, Rock Island. Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home and Crematory, Rock Island is assisting the family. Memorials may be made to the Laurie Hauman Endowed Memorial Nursing Scholarship.

Thomas was born on September 23, 1930, in Rock Island, a son of Emil and Marie (Ballien) Hauman. He married Gertrud Schmitt on July 24, 1952, in Heidelberg, Germany. She preceded him in death on May 24, 2014. Tom retired as manager of the Bowladrome, Rock Island, where he started working when he was 14 years old. Tom received the City of Rock Island's Beautification Award for his yard work at his home.  He was a member of VFW Post 1303. Tom was a U.S. Army veteran. Tom was a selfless man always helping his neighbors, friends and family. He enjoyed a cold beer after a long day of working in his yard or by the fire pit with his neighbors. His smile lit up every room and he will be greatly missed.

Survivors include his children, Steven Hauman, Rock Island, and Diana "Dena" Hauman, Rock Island; grandchildren, Jennifer (Todd) Meggos, Kimberly (Jonathan) Kelecius, and Fletcher Nebrick; three great grandchildren, Madeline, Olivia, and Avery.

Tom was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Gertrud; daughter in law, Laurie Hauman; and brothers, Robert Hauman and Edward Hauman.
