Thomas J. Hoffman, 81, of Milan, passed away on Wednesday, November 11, 2015 at UnityPoint Health-Trinity, Rock Island. Services for Mr. Hoffman will be 11 am, Monday at St. Matthew Lutheran Church, Milan. Visitation will be Sunday from 2 - 5 pm, at the Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home, Milan. Burial will be in the Rock Island National Cemetery, where military honors will be conducted. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the church or the family.

Tom was born on February 26, 1934 in Moline, the son of William and Dorothy (Leisure) Hoffman. He married Marian Teuscher on November 25, 1960 in Rock Island. Mr. Hoffman was owner/operator of Hoffman Trucking and also was a truck driver for Jewel Foods, retiring in 1995. In his later years, he worked for Blackhawk Bank & Trust and the Rock Island County Courthouse. Mr. Hoffman was a member of St. Matthew Lutheran Church, Milan. Tom was a U.S. Air Force veteran. He was an avid Chicago Cubs fan and enjoyed fishing. In his spare time, Tom was an associate scout for several major league baseball teams. His biggest love was his grandchildren and attending all their ball games.

Survivors include his wife, Marian; children, Jeffery (Jayne) Hoffman, Mokena, Ill., Lisa (Tim) Davison, Davenport and T.J. (Kristi) Hoffman, Rock Island; grandchildren, Meghan, Dan, Allie, Robby, Caleb, Kelsey, Drew, Emily, Erik and Errin; great-grandchildren, Taylor and Rory; and siblings, Bill Hoffman, Marilyn Brown, Sharon Mee, Chuck (Donna) Fiser, and Margie Kaskadden.
