Thomas Maloney, 88, passed away on December 31, 2025, at Celebrate of Moline. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 8:30 am on Friday, January 9, 2026, at St Anthony Catholic Church in Davenport. Visitation will be held on Thursday, January 8, 2026, from 4:30 pm to 6:00 pm with a rosary being recited at 6:00 pm at Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home and Crematory, Rock Island. Burial will be at Rock Island National Cemetery. Memorial donations can be made in Thomas's name to Celebrate of Moline.

Tom was born July 21, 1937, in Boone, IA, the son of James and Mary (Mortenson) Maloney. He is a veteran of the United States Navy serving from 1955 to 1971. Tom is survived by children, Jerry (Elena) Maloney, Moldova, Terry (Debra) Maloney, Centennial, Colorado, James Maloney, Davenport; grandchildren, Michael (Ashton), Melissa, Eric, Nicole, Evelina, Matthew, Aaron, and Jonathan; and great-grandchildren Emily, Felix, Etienne, and Maritta; and sister, Mary Elizabeth (Bill) Walsh. Tom is preceded in death by parents, wife, Jean McGinnis Maloney and siblings, Catherine Patricia Ann Maloney, Nancy (Bernard) Gilhooly, and Maureen (Kayo) Porter.
