Thomas A. Owens, 71, of Rock Island, died Monday, March 4, 2019 at UnityPoint Health – Trinity, Rock Island.  Cremation rites were accorded.  No services scheduled.  Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home and Crematory, Rock Island, assisted the family.

Thomas was born in Wilson County, North Carolina on March 10, 1947, a son of Elbert L. and Agnes C. Edwards Owens.  He married Elizabeth C. Giacometti on March 1, 1972.  She died May 30, 2011.

Thomas worked as a mechanic for Sears for many years.

He is survived by his siblings, Doris Janet Dunn, Kay Jeandean Corey, Hilda G. Alderman, Hubert D. Owens and Robert L. Owens.

He was preceded in death by his wife and parents.
