Timothy "Tim" A. Maess, 68, of Rock Island passed away on Monday, January 16, 2023 at home.

A celebration of Tim's life will be held from 4:00 to 6:00 pm on Friday, January 20, 2023 at Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home and Crematory, Rock Island. Memorials may be made in care of the Arc of the Quad Cities.

Tim was born on September 12, 1954 in Rock Island, a son of George and Ruby (Gossage) Maess. He married his high school sweetheart, Brenda Brasmer, on January 13, 1979. He worked as a fork truck driver for Case IH for over 30 years, retiring in 2004. After retirement, he worked for Forward Air as a truck driver.

Tim thoroughly enjoyed camping, fishing, washing and detailing his truck, restoring pedal tractors, and spending time in his garage talking with the neighbors. He also enjoyed spending time with his loyal companions Soldier, Willy, and Snowball.

Those left to cherish his memory include his wife, Brenda; sons, Nick Maess (Courtney Buchanan); Scott Maess, and Bryan (Marcela) Maess; "adopted son", George Sanders; 1 grandson; 1 great-granddaughter; brother, George (Sandy) Maess; sister in law, Cathy VanThournout (Trent Brandt); nieces and nephews, Cassie Dwyer (Keith Mundt), Jaysa (John) Howell, Lindsey Maess (Tony), Kevin (Kerrie) Maess; 4 great nieces; and 5 great nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; 1 grandson; and special friends, Bruce Strader and John Berenger.
