Timothy Allen Ayers, 67, Sherrard, IL passed away on Thursday, August 6, 2026 at UnityPoint-Trinity Hospital in Rock Island. There will be a visitation from 4-7:00 PM on Tuesday, August 11, 2026 at Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home and Crematory, Milan. The funeral service will be at 10:00 AM on Wednesday, August 12, 2026 at the funeral home. Burial at Rock Island Memorial Park. Memorials may be made to the Pulmonary Fibrosis Foundation or First Presbyterian Church in Milan.  

Tim was born on September 7, 1958, in Rock Island, Illinois, the son of Donald and Betty (Handley) Ayers. After graduating from Sherrard High School, he briefly worked at Farmall before beginning his career with the family business. Tim was a dedicated agent with Don Ayers and Sons Insurance Agency, where he proudly served for 40 years. 

Tim made his home in Sherrard with his fiancé, Doreen Braden. He enjoyed working on projects around the house and could often be found tinkering with cars. In his younger years, he enjoyed spending time at Cordova and being part of the Ayers Racing Team. He also loved getting out on his boat from Sunset Marina, where he spent many memorable days on the water with Doreen and his family. 

Family was always first and foremost in Tim’s life. He cherished the time he spent with his children and grandchildren, whether they were hanging out on the boat, going to school sporting events, or simply enjoying time together.  

Tim is survived by Doreen and their beloved Samoyeds, Finley and Fallyn; children, Robert (Janna) Stevens, D.J. (Shaleen) Ayers, Kaylee (Frank) Price; stepchildren, Erin (Pat) Harbaugh and Brittany (Darren) Brown; grandchildren, Corinne Conner, Miranda and Breanna Stevens, Robert Stevens II, Evelyn and Benson Ayers, Jensen and Miley Price; step-grandchildren, Kylee and Kamryn Brown, Logan Harbaugh, and Prosper Aremu; and 12 great-grandchildren; siblings, Rick (Barb) Ayers, Denny (Sherry) Ayers, Terry (Cindy) Ayers, Candy Ayers, and Dee (Trent) Allison; and numerous nieces and nephews. 

Tim was preceded in death by his parents; siblings, Kevin, Ronald, Robin, and Pam Ayers.
