Timothy D. Moss, 76, of Davenport, IA, passed away Tuesday, March 24, 2026, at Clarissa Cook Hospice House in Bettendorf, IA.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, March 30, 2026, at Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home, 3030 7th Avenue, Rock Island, IL, with visitation one hour prior to the service. Burial will take place at National Cemetery, Rock Island, IL, with military honors. Memorials may be made to the Ronald McDonald House and the United Mitochondrial Disease Foundation.
Tim was born May 3, 1949, in Scottsbluff, NE, the son of Philip and Carol (Stephenson) Moss. He graduated from Rock Island High School in 1967. He proudly served in the U.S. Navy from 1967 to 1969 and was a Vietnam veteran.
He was previously married in 1971, and from that union had his daughters, Laura, Kelly Jo, and Haley. He later married Helen Runyon in 2010. Tim retired from Jefferson Smurfit Box Factory in Galesburg, IL. Earlier in his career, he worked at Farmall and Wilson Foods.
Tim enjoyed traveling, visiting flea markets, collecting antiques, gardening, and his marble collection. He especially loved watching his grandchildren wrestle and play football. Most of all, he cherished the time he spent with his grandchildren.
Survivors include his wife, Helen; his children, Laura (John) Mack of Milan, IL, Kelly Jo (Russ) Wingert of Keithsburg, IL, and Haley (John) Crow of Port Orange, FL; grandchildren, Alexa Peterson, Jordan (Chaz) Mulherin, Taylor (Chance) Peterson, Zachary (Hannah) Nelson, Chase Nelson, David Meece III, Kenzi Meece, David (Liz) Crow, Johnna (Tanner) Crow, and Johnelle Crow; 10 great-grandchildren, with one lovingly expected; and his brothers, Jon Moss of Moline, IL, and Mark Moss of Lincoln, NE, along with several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his son-in-law, Shawn Peterson; and his sisters-in-law, Ann Moss and Sherry Moss.
