Obituary

Timothy J. Schrader, 79, of Rock Island, passed away Friday June 27, 2025 at home surrounded by all who love and cherish him.

Funeral services will be held 10:00 AM Thursday July 3, 2025 at St. Ambrose Catholic Church, Milan. Visitation will be from 4:00 to 7:00 PM Wednesday at Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home and Crematory, Rock Island, with a rosary recited at 3:30 PM. Burial will be in Rock Island National Cemetery with Military Honors by Milan American Legion 569.

Tim was born on August 16, 1945, the son of Etta Mae Runyon Schrader Dunsworth. He graduated from Rock Island High School in 1963 and later attended Blackhawk College. He served in the U.S. Army 82nd Airborne before meeting his love, Judy. Tim and Judy Golz married on May 15, 1970 and their lives were blessed with two children, Jonathan and Christine, whom he loved dearly. Tim and his family were active members of St. Ambrose Parish, where they participated in numerous parish functions. Tim would assist Judy in providing music during Mass and other church services for over 30 years.

Tim was employed as a machinist at the Rock Island Arsenal, retiring in 2007. He was proud of the work he did there. He enjoyed being outdoors, camping, fishing, golfing and traveling with Judy. They loved dancing and did so as often as possible. Tim was a kind and gentle giant; a faithful, loving husband and a model of true manhood to Judy, their children and grandchildren.

Tim was preceded in death by his mother, Etta Mae; his step dad, Lloyd Dunsworth; brothers, Allen Dunsworth, Daniel Schrader; father in law, Herbert Golz; mother in law, Mary Golz; brothers in law, Lt. John Golz and James Golz.

Those left to cherish his memory include his wife of 55 years, Judy; son, Jonathan (Rochelle) Schrader; daughter, Christine Foutch; grandchildren, Caleb and David Schrader, Jules (Kaila Jensen) Foutch, Grace Foutch, Gabriel Foutch; his first beautiful great grandson, Rhys; his brother and sister in law, Kelley and Mary Dunsworth, as well as many nieces and nephews.

There are so many we wish to thank from Unity Point Hospice, VA Medical staff, family members and neighbors, all who came forward to help. You will always hold a special place in our hearts. May God bless you all.
