Toni A. Hayes-Walker

Toni A. Walker, 64, of Rock Island, passed away Thursday November 16, 2017. Private services were held at Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home & Crematory, Rock Island. Toni was laid to rest beside her daughter. Toni was born on July 5, 1953 in Rock Island, the daughter of John and Nellie Hayes. She united in marriage to Ronald Walker Sr. She was a graduate of Rock Island High School and later received a business degree from Scott Community College. Toni had previously been employed with Project Now for many years. Toni was an avid reader, her favorite book was the Holy Bible which she always kept close to her heart. Our family lost Toni two years ago when she never recovered due to complications from a surgery. God called her home on November 16, 2017. He whispered in her ear, It is time to come home, you do not have to suffer anymore my child. Toni said she was ready and praise the Lord. Toni is survived by her pride and joy, her two children, Sakina Walker and Ronald Walker Jr., both of Rock Island; 3 grandchildren; brothers, Jerry(Linda) Hayes, Johnny(Doris) Hayes, all of Davenport, Billy(Sylvia) Hayes, Guy Hayes and Larry Hayes, all of Rock Island; sisters, Pearl and LaVern, both of Rock Island; A host of nephews, nieces and cousins. She loved you all. She was preceded in death by her parents; her youngest child, Jessica Walker; sisters, Jillanne and Betty Sue; several aunts and uncles. Toni was a kind and Godly woman who truly loved her family.
