HIS JOURNEY

Tony began his journey on February 20, 1966 in Rock Island, Illinois. He was the third oldest of eight children born to Paul and Carrie (McIntosh) Springfield. He graduated from Rock Island High School, Class of 1984. Tony resided in the Quad Cities for the majority of his life but lived throughout several cities in the Midwest until he settled back in Davenport, Iowa. Tony worked several jobs throughout his young adult life which included security for several concert venues in the Quad Cities area as well as a manager at SOUL's record store in Rock Island, Illinois. Tony "who his family affectionally called MOKEY ," was loved by everyone and had a special connection with his siblings. As Tony never had children of his own, he also had a special and loving connection with all his nieces and nephews and encouraged them and supported them to do well in school and life.

Tony was smart and had an exceedingly kind heart and would lend a hand to anyone in need in the blink of an eye. Anyone who knew Tony knew that he enjoyed going to the casino and playing the slots and he could often be found at Rhythm City (which came to be known as his second home). But above all, Tony cherished time spent with his family and friends. We will always hold dear in our hearts Mokey's quick wit and ability to make everyone laugh, especially during family game nights.

Tony's journey ended on Monday, April 24, 2023 when he took a flight home to rest until Jesus comes again.

2 Corinthians, "For we know that if our earthly house of this tabernacle were dissolved, we have a building not made with hands eternal in the heavens."

Tony leaves to cherish his memories, his mother, Carrie Springfield of South Elgin, IL; three brothers, Tracy Springfield of Davenport, IA, Kenneth Springfield of Birmingham, AL and Tierre Springfield of Elgin, IL; three sisters, Doris Springfield of Indianapolis, IN, Delisa (Ramon) Russell of Schaumburg, IL and Lakeshia Springfield of Schaumburg, IL; five uncles, six aunts, ten nieces, eight nephews, seven great-nieces, eleven great-nephews and a host of cousins and friends.

Tony was preceded in death by his father, Paul Daniel Springfield; his brother, Paul Dural Springfield.
